Well i got a sweet Snowboard/ski holder that mounts onto my roof rack, so that rack can stay on the bug at all times. I cant wait to try it out this winter. I am also working on making my Bike mounts for the roof rack.

Looking good!!!

I just finished my dropped spindle disk brakes. My 69 'vert looks a lot better with the front end down.

I got a deal last week!!! Bought the wife a new 08 New Beetle 'vert (matches the 69, red with black top) and the dealership gave me a 74 super beetle Herbie-wannabe. He super's body is in sad shape, but the engine and tranny are good. Got me a parts car.

Alright. my engine will most likely be comeing out again soon. I will put in new rings and maybe a cb performance cheater cam. The main reasion for taking out the motor is i am having probs with Valves not seating and little bit of blow by and oil burn. I will also take out my transmision and reseal it.

I also might add air shocks so i can adjust my height and what not.

Thats it for now.

Also the tape and stuff in the pics of my engine was just for a moment.

Well i had the 69 forsale because i had bought a 63, someone looked at it and i later decided this bug was worth to much to me to sell so the 63 is going and The 69 is getting some early fenders.

Got the early fenders mounted on my bug, they will be paint matched after some work. Also i will make brackets to properly mount the bumpers. Also i am using a 64 decklid and apron for rear.

Whats sad? I look at is though i saved some german metal from the dump. And It Makes the late model look better. As for now it look funny but this winter it will change.

No it does not makes the late model look better. It makes it look stupid.

late model looks fine just as they came out of factory. If you wan't an early bug, get one, or you'll end with some bastard that's gonna look like crap.

I thought you had the whole shell of that 60 something, why don't you get a pan for it, make it a driver...

The answer to your question is.. $$$$$$$$. I am a high schooler, i make pizza which wont suport enough $ for another restored car. Yes i have a 63 butt i am selling it.

I love the looks of my later/early bug and couldnt be happier. This way i have Fresh air, 2 speed windowipers, 12v,Irs, window defrosters, And more visibility. This all adds up to a perfect daily driver.

Maybe when i am your age i will have a early bug that i drive ounce a month Like some of you. Butt untill then this car is my style And it isnt changing!

just a word of advice
ditch that toy dizzy cap b4 it leaves u stranded somewhere

clear caps are made for show cars that are driven off and on trailers
lots of ppl have had failures using them in daily drivers

just found this thread.

good work man. i dont have any problems with frankenstein bugs with mismatched parts. if you like it, do it. early fenders are tight.

Did you finish the wheels?

It was looking so good before! sell those early fenders and generate you some capitol. If you're broke, the last thing you need to do is spend time and money on a modification that is pointless. Fatties have their place and you really had the car going in a great direction. Trust me, when you get ready to move on to a new project, selling this one will be much easier if it is year correct! Sell those fenders and pocket that money.
