ok i got new carbs (webbers) got them all synced runs fine in first but boggs in second. went to adjust the carbs a bit to see whats going on and the drivers side carb seems to be sticking. should i adjust the idle to open the card up a bit? help

no, all of your adjustments should be on the linkage, It's a bitch, I know. I have been there done that wouldn't like to be doing it again

i got the linkage all set up but runs great in first gear but almost dies in second. could it be the timing? if so how do i fix it/ adjust the timming

you sure its second gear and not 4th? try again, this time shifting from 1st to 4th. if it does the same thing, adjust your shifter plate.

How big is the balance tube between the carbs? If I remember, it's pretty small, you will want to upgrade. Did you sync the carbs?

the balance tube is about the same size as a staw. i synced the carbs and spent all day getting the linkage set right( what a pain in the ass). as for shifting i tried that and yeah i'm in second.

does it pop at all
I had that problem but it was a vaccum leak between the carb and the manifold on 1 and 2. I two spend hrs making them perfect. The only other thing it could be would be jets. In 2nd ur coming almost out of ur idle circuit. What size jets are u running? But if u are not getting any noises it might not be a jetting issue.

If ur heads are stock and ur running a big exshaust sometimes that kills low end power.
