Hard black caulking? At least thats what it looks like. It was on all the
seams of my pan before I stripped it. Really hard stuff, had to chip it
off with a screwdriver.
Anyway, do I need to seal up all the seams again? |

yeah, get permatex seamsealer from the auto parts store in a big caulking style tube, brush it in with a cheap paint brush that you can throw away. |

If you want to go even cheaper than the permatex seamsealer but just as effective..get some roof tar in a tube for the seams, its just like undercoating and will harden up nice and keep the water out. |

Thanks. I actually have a couple tubes of roof tar left over
from my roofing project. I'll give it a try. |

The tar works, but takes a long time to dry |
