My son just purchased a new race bike. The thing is all carbon fiber and weighs almost nothing.

here's another "old" bianchi:
i ride it just about every day, to and from the shop. it's a bianchi brava road bike that i bought at a garage sale for 25 bucks (it was a steal) and turned it into a city bike. the tires are bit skinny for city riding - i'd prefer a 650B for the city - but it's really fast. |

A coworker of mine has one of these with all the high end bits. It's a f*ckin $7K bike (and he wiped on a corner 2 weeks after getting it. Bike was fine. Him . . .one giant scab). |

I love this tread, good to see VW guys showing off their other passions. Especially if it's an old bike they used to ride. Or a new one worth more than the car they drive. :P
Here's two of my old favorites:

Just have to ask. Did schwinn build the Goodrich bike? I have a 1941 DX and it was the only year that they had the fork stop mounted on the frame just like your bike. Great bike you have .
41' B.F. Goodrich
The stop one year only for Schwinn.

i've also just recently got my bike going, its an old hawthorne frame, don't know what year or model or whatever, thats all i know. i started with just a bare frame, and used an old beat up schwinn mountainbike as a donor for the forks, wheels, handlebars, i welded in the center area and painted it a couple colors before i found that black just looked better.
i've put about 20-25 miles on it since i finished it last week |

Anyone know where to look up the serial number on a Mohawk bicycle to find out the year? I was told Mohawk was made by Schwinn, and a lot of the parts, handle bars crank etc say Schwinn on them. I cannot seem to find any place that lists this bike. I will post pics a bit later.
the serial # is MON5566927 |

Anybody know if there's any value to an early/mid 80's Diamonback Dominator free-style bike? This thing is all original right down to the white tires. Has foot pegs integrated into the forks, and the chainstays are widened at the rear to stand on.
I can get some pics of it to post up if you'd like.
EDIT - After a little research, it appears to be a DiamondBack either 'Strike Zone' or 'Hot Streak' Mike Dominguez signature bike. Circa 1987. |

This was stolen and recovered, was new when stolen ( girl i work with owns it) and was returned as a trashed out cruiser.
It is now an 18 speed with front suspention. Note the cruiser seat and handlebars were kept. I still have to put the chain back on it
A couple of trashed / curbside mountain bikes were used for parts. This is what happens when you get bored on a rainy day. |

Looks like an industrial schwinn straight bar to me. Check the frame for any serial numbers. |

Honestly, it does take some getting used to. your legs are at a different angle from a normal bike, and yours calfs will burn the first time you do a long ride. Mine is very comfy, I ride it almost daily, on long rides (long considering mine is a single speed). The springer front end and seat make it pretty cushy. My new lady rode one for the first time last saterday, she had a blast and wants one now |
