I bought my first VW, a 1981 rabbit Caddy. Should I consider getting a regular rabbit as a doner vehicle for parts? Are all parts interchangable?

What do you need a donor for? The caddy is a rabbit from the cab forward. Got any pics?
I have an 81. My friend named it FrankenDub because it has parts from aircooled VWs up to Mk4 VWs. |

If you have a donor available cheap, I'd say grab it...of course, the rear stuff is different, and there were mechanical and cosmetic changes by year and engine type, but most stuff will crossover. |

If you can find a good 4-door rabbit or Mk 1 Jetta, they make good donors. There are parts of 10 cars in my pristine 1981 Caddy.
