Back in the late 70's my buddy's father in law who was an independent insurance agent bought a 1965 sunroof bug from one of his customers. comedian Andy Kaufman. the father in laws intent was to build it into a HDRA class 11 baja bug. Unlike SCORE that required the body to remain stock the HDRA allowed seven piece baja kits.

Here is a pic of that car in competition at the 1981 mint 400.

woould that be the same roommate that owed him money, but woudnt pay up so he busted in the door and stole his mtn bike to pawn off and get his $$ back? :lol:

He drove the Sunbeam Tiger in the opening credits in some of episodes as well.
