i was just wondering what you think would be a good/ideal size for the plate (?) that im going to use to mount my rollcage by sandwiching it to the pan in four places. All the usual hardware stores have 3" flat stock but it sounds iffy to me, thanks.

3 inch will work fine.

2 inch used here:

I think the 3" would be OK but I would do it like Murzi so that it distributes the clamping surface.

I have the stamped sheet metal lift kit and was thinking of cutting into the lift kit and mounting straight to the pan sandwiching the inside of the lift between. That way I am not relying on the crappy sheetmetal lift for Roll bar support. The onlt bad side is that The brazillian floors aren't that great either.

I guess it it's distributed enough it should be OK. Still thinking about going through to the beam and across to the center tunnel as well.

NHRA rules require 6" X 6" X .125" plate sandwiched between the floor pan with (4) 3/8" bolts
