I was wanting to build a custom exhaust for my bus. Anyone have any good pics of theirs so I can get some ideas? My bus is lowered so i need something with clearance. I currently run some cheesy glasspack which has to go  . Heres some pics:

Let's see what everyone else is running

Have you checked out the setup on mine er I mean Mikes DC? You could do something like that. Or do it better and more like an A-1 by using the same Magnaflow they use. I forget the part number but I bekieve its the same muffler used on Roush Mustangs. Has the inlet/outlet on the same side.

Check out the pictures of NAES's setup, it's pretty clean. The A1 is definitely nice, but you gotta have a pretty big engine to run it otherwise the exhaust is way too big for the engine. The new bus muffler that Splitpile was working on would be sweet, but it's currently at a stand still (poke poke... )

I was merely using the A-1 as an example of the setup. T-rav would know not to make the pipes too big for his motor. But yes Naes is nice.

Heres the one from the DC:

Thats the kind of setup that i like. But i see what your saying sloan about having the in/out on the same side, that would make for an easier build too.

The only reason I used that muffler was because I didn't want to wait for the magnaflow. Wish I could remember that part #. I wasn't happy with the pipe coming out of the back of muffler like that.

They have one that is for stock engines.

Last time I checked (and its been a while) the stock setups were custom order and $200 more. I could be wrong.

I had glasspacks, hated it for the most part. Switched to the econo dual quiet packs for now until I can save some coin for something similar to A-1.
Here I have 2 1/2" clearance to the ground which is more than I can say for my side step, 1 1/2"

How about some more pics. I know there's plenty out there!

If your time fabbing/testing one is worth anything, then buy one that's been fabbed and tested for you. I bought a 1.5" version that I've been happy with. I think he'll do 1 3/8" too. Way more clearance than a standard merged. Just my $.02

but why buy it when you can build it

I am going to custom Fab somthing similar to this, notice there are two mufflers in series, this will be very quiet, and I enjoy building stuff.

Happen to have a larger picture of that? It looks cool, but it's hard to tell what goes where in such a small picture.

I built something like that for my old 64 bus out of two Bugpack hideaway systems.

It worked really well, and was REALLY quiet. I mean REALLY quiet!

I sold it to somebody on the forum a few years back, can't remember who. I'll see if I can't find pics of it.

Do you remove the mufflers on these setups to adjust the valves? Anyone with a rear Hurst with a custom muffler setup? There is no room to put something trick in. I have a bug muffler with dual, side out let pea shooters. Kinda like a stock Bus exhaust with two tailpipes.

Looks like the first tailpipe just aft of the collector is a dummy. I've seen motorcycle exhaust setups like that.
