I thought was changing the rubber in the pop outs, putting them all back together....that was until last nite.
I bought a door seal kit from WCM. complete kit for "Jerry", my '65 Westy after getting tired of being drenched everytime it rained.

First the scraper along the door frame was fun 'sliding' in along the whole way, I used lots of soapy water....but it's in. There does seem to be excess rubber on both ends, about 2-3" worth, I'm not going to cut it, until it has time to expand/contract a few days.

Then, holy smokes, changing the vent window rubber! What a pain. But, it's in. Well at least the right side door is done. All in all it's not that tough to do, and actually, I think pop outs are harder, at least on doors you only have 2 to deal with and not 6 pop outs.

What do you guys think is the hardest thing to do on a Bus?

That one's at the top of my list. Also "rat nest" wiring loom.

Trying to get the nut on the starter motor bolt when you're on your own is quite hard. It's almost impossible to get the nut on without pushing the bolt back through the hole....

second that ....

The PO on Jerry welded a bolt across the head of the long bolt so it won't spin, kinda brutal, but effective.

After sitting here at work all day, I got to thinking, fiddling with that door rubber is a joy after all.

Without question, seperating early shift rods to remove the beam. Doing it right takes time and worth it.

that is one of the simplest things to do

wrap some electrical tape around the bolt near the head and it will stay

I agree that installing new wing window rubber in the window frame was difficult; a crochet needle helped.
Removing and installing cargo floor halves is a pain in the butt but right up there is removing that lower inner panel below the nose panel.
Another toughie that I am doing right now is removing a tweaked right front frame rail, with its inner wall, from my double cab. I am sick of dealing with spot welds.
For me, the one that has been the most difficult, though, has been getting laid in the back of my bus.

I'd have to say putting the vent window frame-to-glass rubber in... HOLY PITA BATMAN!!!

Also, trying to install the chrome trim strips on the two piece long panel from Wolfsburg West (TMI panel) on a standard / deluxe bus.

Gravity is unrelenting, Jon. Everything gets closer to the earth as it ages. Why fight it.

Trees don't, Brother Chris! Try embracing one and maybe you too will hear their sweet songs convincing you to follow a loftier path to happiness!
