Just wanted to show you guys what I grabbed out of my '69 Westy before I traded it for a '69 Square....I've owned, sold, and parted out a lot of Buses. This is the first set I have ever seen. They will be going into my '79 Westy when it gets reassembled after paint. For now, they lay stashed away waiting to be put on.

Yup, very pliable and came off without tearing them at all. |

I went looking (on line ) last night after posting. I was sure I could find some. Nope!
I saw some -once- awhile back but can't remember if it was an individual or company that was selling them.
Now I have another reason to spend "quality" time on the computer! |

I have some in my '69. Yours makes the second set I've seen.
The bottom half always wants to tuck inwards. |

| I have that on seal for the jalousie on my 68. It is also in very good condition. Pliable and no signs of cracking. |

I have a pair of these. I didnt know they were that rare. I cbought a bag of stuff at Vanfest last year. It had a pair of these in, the early pop top roof hole surround seal and some spare cabinet edging in it.
I paid £5GBP for the lot! |

Is the seal a one piece loop, or is it jointed? I wonder what the profile of the seal is and how hard it would be to find/make a suitable replacement.
:? Hmmm... |

i guess i just didn't realize they were rare...i have both of mine attached no rips, perfect condition...guess i need to take better care of 'em...didn't realize they were a desired item. :?
what else is rare that i have that others don't? not to rub it in i just thought everyone had those...hmmmmm :? |

so what years actually came with these? i really don't see how these would be "rare" if they were used long into bay Westfalia production. if every camper came with them, there certainly would be more of them around.
i used to find them all the time on campers, never considered them "rare" by any means, but i really don't recall finding them on later (post 71) busses. |
