| overheated then conked out. have tried to restart since and not even a crank. tried to turn by hand and it is tight and non moving. |

Did some general cleaning to the outside of the MAngo today while the engine is out. came out good with the CLR treatment.

It's ALIVE!!! With help of friends Danny and his son Daniel, the Mango is back but this time with a borrowed engine until mine gets a rebuild. I hope to have it at Flanders in a few weeks for this:

If all goes well on my end, I should be finally driving a 67 beetle to the show instead of a honda. 8) |

| it's back!!!!! small nut to large nut trans swap,new headliner, some new window rubbers, and some electrical glitches fixed. |

as luck would have it, i pulled the bus out this A.M. and it had rained earlier but was now just cloudy. I get the old rear seat back out and go to swap the new one in and it starts to rain hard enough to piss me off. To top it off the humidity is ridiculous and my glasses were sliding off my head. I now remember why i stopped wearing f#!&*# glasses except to wear them before and after contact lenses. Didn't have enough time to take pics of the headliner due to the damn rain!! Anyway, the seat back is in and i am happily now sitting on here surfing The Samba!

yeah it was the wolfsburg west headliner that came with the bus from when Michael owned it. It was installed by one of 2 VW buddies who are brothers. He is pretty meticulous when it comes to those details. He admitted that the toughest part was around the rear dome light where there are a few wrinkles but i still think it looks tons better than a rusty inner roof!
