We painted the entire bus sealing wax red so it will have factory style patina in 50 more years....
Here is the cargo area - brown on the floor resembles what the original floor looked like.

Is this the bus that was photographed with the story of how it rolled off the edge of a driveway? I remember it from an OBR from the early or mid 90s.
Kick ass work, guys. Owning that thing and seeing the work through is almost as hard as being the one doing it... ALMOST! |

LOL. the next thing I am going to hear that he painted over the logos because his dad made him do it....
this is the perfect example of a bus that needed totally restored. it had already been repainted and it was rusty. |

Right on! that's what a real restoration should shoot for....in a few decades when it's found in a barn somewhere no one should be able to tell if it had been restored or not.... |

Hopefully they'll all be together in one barn, retired and happy. Ready to rest.

Was it rusty original paint to start? Just curious because the front turn signal seals look painted red but it looks like original paint with the logos.
it has the thing where they paint the bottom color all the way up to the trim. yuck. at least they painted it the original colors.
You mean, they paint the top color, too far down, so you can see it under the trim. right? The factory let the trim hide the split in color.... correct?
Wrong.
Wait. if you look in the picture of the logo-ed bus the bottom color disappears under the trim...there is no black under the trim.... right? There will be black under this trim, right? The trim only covers part of the belt line bulge (That's what I thought Lind was pointing out) |

| No. Factory has the whole beltline bulge painted the top body color. |

| It had been repainted previously. Most old repaints were either to change the color or simply because they wanted to shine it up. Usually there's original paint underneath old repaints (like on my '65... BASTARDS!!!) |

I like how the welds along the bottom edge of the valance are evenly spaced...that shows pride in work because those are hidden after paint...only matters to the man doing the work...it's obvious the guy not only has talent but he cares about his own work. fuck yeah! |

It will be rolling on dollys at Mark's shop. There is just way to much to do by then. Mark still has to paint the window frames and with Anchovies photo help - the overspray in the wheel wells. |
