Is it just me or is the "regular" TheSamba.com site (Classifieds/Gallery) A LOT faster now that I moved the Forums to this new area?

Feedback appreciated...

HOLY SH!T!!! i just did a search to check it out. even with a cable modem it used to take awhile sometimes. as soon as i clicked search the page loaded in under 2 seconds. very nice.

I'm on a dial-up so the difference is really noticable for me.

The "old" Samba is faster...but I find now that the "new" Samba is slower...is it just me??

samba home page and it links faster , BBS a little slower but not much

One note is that the Forums might be a little bit slow this week while I am doing some testing on loading all the old messages

Whatever you did today, undo it. :) It's taking me over 2 minutes to download each page. It just sits there, mocking me. For example, as I'm typing this, the little blue meter at the bottom of my pages still is less than 40% downloaded. (I'm surpised I got the post-a-reply form already.

What did you do? :)

PS: It's still not done downloading this page.. Also, I'm getting these errors all over the place:

Same here. I'm running 600k cable & it takes ages to open the website & the same for each forum. Seems to have happened since the old posts got loaded on. Coincidence? Dunno. Great new format, but the speed thing lets it down. :(

Yeah...same thing here. A page takes forever to load (I am on a cable modem too). It's hard to get my daily Samba fix.

Here is a third note. Justbuggin and Jeremysmith are spot on. I have cable and this is slower than the old days of 33.6 K dial-up.

HOLY CRAP- STOP whatever you are doing. It was running fast (like a greased pig trying to avoid being stuck by horny farmer Bill) this past Sunday morning, than I came back in the evening and almost died of complete boredom while watching the earth spin round and round and round and round and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Seems to be doing much better now. Not as fast as it was yesterday, but definately more acceptable. :)

I turned off the banner ads on the forums site, which stops it from being slow because of thesamba.com
