I have a 73 412 variant.
There are weather strips that run from the side of the windshield and then under the hood.
They also run along the top of the rear panels just above the cooling fins.
I imagine these were installed to keep water out of places.
Mine are quite brittle after the years.
Do people replace them when restoring? Or just leave them off?
Does anyone know of a replacement for these strips/seals?
Thanks. |

| If you mean the plastic fender beading like t3 has where the fenders bolt on, vwispwest sells new fender beading. |

Thanks for the reply.
vwispwest is a great site. They just don't have Type 4 parts :-(
If they did I'd have new front and rear fenders and a T4 fender beading kit.
I may have to see how close the fender beading kit is between the T3 and T4. Maybe it can be tweaked to fit the T4. |

| buy a roll of generic 'bug' beading and cut it to match your old stuff. that is what i do with t3s as i'm too cheap to buy t3 specific stuff. |
