Not so much about offending as it is about organizational integrity. :)
Not finding any threads in your vehicles section sounds like a prime opportunity to create the first Bay Riv thread and watch the replys with pics flow. |

Agreed. No offense taken, just needs some clarity. Start a Bay Riv thread, I have something I could add to it. |

| I know there are heaps of Bay Rivis out there. In fact, probably more than split Rivieras because the Riviera camper didn't start until 1965. |

Very nice find! Can't wait to see it all cleaned up.
I'm curious about the shape of that piece over the long side window. Looks different than other Rivieras I have seen. Could just be the photo angle though. Looks like a tent bag hanging down over the cargo door opening, too.
Yes, that's the place intended to store the poles. There's even a cleat positioned to tie off the top of the bag. See photo below:

Check out the wooden fishing rod holders on this Rivi in the classifieds. You can see them inside along the window. Very cool. Anyone ever seen these?

| I think it's called quilted maple. At least that's the term used on guitars. Looks beautiful. :D |

I've always been frustrated with how the Riviera bed doesn't have a hinge to allow seat to open up like a Westy does. So I came up with a solution.
First I removed the seat bottom and ground the end off of this rivet.
I opened up the hole to 1/4" and replaced the rivet with a quick release pin.
Since added stress of lifting the bed would result in pulling the small screws out, I replaced them with these:
Also decided to replace the screws holding the seat to the floor with grade 10.9 8mm bolts through the floor.
Replace the seat bottom, pull the quick release pins, and you're all set!

| A friend of mine did something similar in his OTW camper, but I don't recall which kit it was. He just used hinges where the seat bottom mounts to the bracket with nothing to lock it down. It worked fine. |
