hi
i just got a 412LE variant, its running but really smokey and splutters when i try to rev it , it will drive but before i shift it( 4 speed manual, im in the UK) starts to splutter and lose power
now i have no experience of EFI but am keen to learn
my bro is a nerd and has bought a VW 1218 tester, for a type 3 with efi he got
i plan to run the tester on the djet ( 1.7 W engine)but i can tell from looking that there ar bits missing, and the engine has been treated to a generous load of silicon in an attempt to stop oil leaks, by the previous owner I hasten to add
i want to drop out the 1.7 and refresh & rebuild and scource the missing efi bits
in the meantime is there any reason i cant swop in a 2.0L from a bus and the Ljet efi system, i have two bus engines with complete efi systems, and would hope i can make one working set up from the two?? |
