Anyone have any idea what these tail lights/bezels might come from?

Not sure but it looks like 65-66 mustang taillights would also fit in those openings also.

Did you take a look inside the bezel for a name or symbol?

This is not my buggy....just a picture I have of another one...I need square ones like it for my buggy, which is the same style.

Thanks!!!!!! :D

I used to order ones similar to those back when
I was designing heavy equipment. That was about
15 years ago (damn I feel old), I don't know if they're
still in bussiness, but the company was "Grote". It might
be worth looking into. Good luck.

I always use eBay as a source of ideas. type "taillight" and see what you come up with. And.....don't feel bad when you buy three different types before you settle on the one you like......we all do that

Hey Grote has a ton that may work...none with the chrome bezel but they have some good stuff. Oh and I have an ENTIRE drawer FULL of lights (raided a truck chrome store in Dallas)...all round unfortunately no squares. Grote is a good source..thanks!

I don't think these are exactly what you're looking for, but it's a close match:

Scroll down a little and there's a good tailgate shot.

DUDE! Damn those are ugly on that car! But they would be perfect. Thanks!

You'd have to measure the openings, but it looks like a standard trailer taillight would fit right it, though you wouldn't have the chrome surround. Or you could do something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1974-chevy-vega-hat...dZViewItem

But there has to be other vintage taillights out there that I can't remember off hand....

I don't know how big the hole is in your glass, but if you have some room to work with I always liked the Vega tail lights......but they are a bit smaller then what you have, so if you have to cover a hole it wouldn't work.....here is one on e-bay......

The beauty is...NO HOLES YET! Believe it or not, no one has ever had taillights in my Concept-1. Weird but true! I just got a whole set of those Vega lights/bezels off of ebay...I like those so much I am just going to put them in the old "light drawer" for future projects if they don't work. :D

Mr Bs Bug N Buggy Mon Nov 26, 2007 10:18 pm

No Holes....... ....me thinks Vega lights would look cool, not to big, not to small..... :P :P :P ......just my opinion, take it for what it's worth, not much.....

The lights look look like those found on many fire trucks and ambulances. Google search "federal signal" Look under perimeter lights or type GL1F in search box.

The Vega light are cool, but they look rectangular.
It looks like the ones on the Concept1 are square.
