I need to get new boots for my cv joints. How do I know if I need these http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC%2D211%2D501%2D149 or these http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC%2D113%2D501%2D149
I have no idea what the PO did back there. Is there an easy way to tell if I need the bug or thing cv boots? |

Love this article:

Basically, you can measure the outside of the CV housing to see if it's 94mm or 100mm.

No theres more you need to know. The type 2 boots in the link above will most likely tear in a few months on a thing (ask me how I know this) and you'll be cleaning the cv joints out again and installing new boots. Try getting CV boots from germansupply.com http://www.germansupply.com He sells elastomeric boots which are damn near tear proof. I did so quite a while ago and the boots still look brand new. If you've already purchased them and dont mind redoing this job soon then install them. You'll agree with me after 3 to 6 months of very light use. |
