If you don't have fender clearance issues, spacer would work.

I would bet the tie rod end is worn and or loose. The distance from the tie rod end to the wheel should remain constant.
If everything is infact sound, you can always grind the tie rod end a little, so it doesn't rub. |

Wow! I had this exact same problem. It was on a '68 with drop spindles, disc brakes, 5" beam, and riviera wheels. My problem was on the passenger wheel. The drivers side and plenty of clearance. What I did was grind down the tie rod end head. Under normal rolling conditions it would clear. But under harsh cornering it would rub. I don't know if the wheel flexed or what, but I had that ball joint tight as hell!

Mine only rubs during a hard turn.seems that when you turn the suspension moves and runs the tierod down into the wheel. It is on the passenger side the worst. When you have passengers in the car it makes it even worse. It will rub going straight down the road as well, and it will get into the drivers side as well then. Could the torsion bar be weak?
Thanks for all the help so far! |
