| I know this is a Porsche forum, but is there one being produced? Don't think I've ever seen one. |

There's a company in North Hollywood that is producing a 356 A Coupe, along with a Speedster.

I own a speedster replica built by JPS |

X2.
I bought my 57 for less than probably you will be into a nicely completed copy.

| nice car! are those the right overriders/uprights? and on the plastic piggy,is it a tubeframe or a beetle chassis? i think a tube cassis might be pretty sweet, you could make a stiffer car with one. |

This is just a consideration, possibly for this next summer. 23K for a base model turnkey is not too shabby! But if I could find an A model original thats comparable for that price, believe me, I'd rather have the real thing. |

The replica comes on a donor bug chassis, but you can order it with a tube chassis if you want for a little bit more.
You might find a C coupe in that price range but I doubt you'll locate an A for 23k that doesn't need at least another 20k to make it roadworthy.
Besides, you can do a hell of an outlaw in plastic without feeling you've insulted the 356 elite........... |

I actually saw one today at a car show here in Irvine. It seems a bit strange when you first see it. Even from a distance the stance, the curves, seem somewhat "off" like it was flattened or lowered. It attracted a lot of positive attention though, and was finished very nicely but it didn't fool anyone in that crowd. |

"Flat" was the first thing I thought when I saw the pics. The graceful body line that flows from front to back is interrupted by a flat spot at the door. The curve at the bottom of the wheel wells also seem flattened and the wheel lips don't feel right:

They aren't made to fool anyone. Just like the 'Speedster' replicas out there, they are meant to be driven and enjoyed. They are REPLICAS!!!
Anyone who tries to pass off a replica only fools himself. However, if a person buys one and doesn't try to pass it off as anything more than it is, should be accepted into the 'crowd'. Just because the circumstances, whatever they might be, they might not be able to afford or whatever, they should be included into the 'Club'. They only pay homage to the marke and that should be enough...
Merry Christmas,

I wish it was the case. The local group I belong to accepts us but we've been voted off the island at North meets South.
