Hi any reccomendations on body Shops in central Florida. Preferably from Orlando and East of there.

I dont have a whole lot of rust/body work ( just some dogleg and a patch on the back hatch), but tyhe whole bus needs to be sanded an painted b/c of the PO's subopar paint job.

I just want it done right. I dont really have the logistical needs ( or the technical know how for that matter) to do any welding etc. myself.

I know of a shop but its in Inverness. I am having them restore my Citation X-11 and they do an EXCELLENT job. PM me for details and contact info. I know its a bit west and north than what you requested but its still "central". Oh, and these guys have a Roadrunner, Charger, and 2 Volvo's that are from Daytona.

JD's Paint and Body in Mulberry FL does great work. I have had him do a few cars in the past and he is not real expensive. Mulberry is about 45 minutes from Orlando near Lakeland.

If you dont mind shipping/driving to Jacksonville....67 South does great work, and generally focuses on vw's, so Todd the owner is familiar with what to look out for on such a project. 904-612-9438.

Theres a Place on west oakridge Called k and k and they sell volkswagen parts and next to it is a body shop. Never used them but you might want to give them a call

Still looking...was hoping to find one from east Orange county out east to the coast.

I do not have a whole lot of rust, but, I want to make sure I find a legit and honest body shop that understands how us vw folks think...:)

u could take it to vw dreams in jacksonville. not much happening in orlando for vw body work

yeah, I guess I could. A long way to drive to even get an estimate though.

Have you had work by them?

Super expensive? or The normal going rate?

No man i dont take my bug to shops. My dad does it (lol). but i heard good things about them and saw photos of their work and it looks real good.

Brown Bus,
I have heard that VW Dreams is reputable. I previously mentioned 67 South. If you call Todd, he may meet you outside Jax. so that you dont have to drive all the way up for an estimate. See my previous post for the number.
As far as a going rate, I dont know what the going rate might be, but I do know that Todd does excellent work. He is currently completing my 63.

Ok, it looks like it is between VW Dreams in Jax and Classic Camber in St Pete. Both are a bit of a drive for me to take into get a final est. etc.

Call Steve at Space Coast Imports in Melbourne. He sends body work to some place out of the area but might know some local shops or get you connected to his guy out of the area.

I'm not really sure why I dint think of that. Maybe b/c I though the only did mechanical stuff. His place is just across the river ( lagoon) from me.

I heard back from Dave at VW Dreams, so hopefully we can talk and work something out.

Brown_Bus, did you find a good local place for your body work? I'm in Indian Harbour Beach and need some rust taken care of on my 72 Bus.
