| Every time I want to write a post by the time i get finished my "session is invalid". Why does it time out so quickly? |

There must be some issue with your computer or browser.
Try clearing your cookies in your browser and re-logging in. |

| if you figure out the problem, post it up...i've never had that problem on this site(thanks Ev) but do on another site...i've pretty much given up on that one because if i get invalid session twenty times, it ain't worth posting... |

People report this every once in a while.
Some people say they clear their cookies and cache, close their browser, then re-login and everything is fine.
Other people have just come back with "Something was wrong with my computer but it's fixed now" so I don't know what they did. |

| i did that back when the problem(again, a different site) started...didn't work for me...happened after they "updated" after being hacked...maybe they got smart and made it rough on me so i'd leave... :lol: |

I am thinking this is an issue with expiring cookies, et al. I have my Firefox configuration set to expire at a regular interval and clear out all cookies and the cache. Also, the cache may not be configured large enough, which is why the error is occurring. On another automotive site, the graphics are intensive with ads and a lot of other flashy BS, so I have the cache set rather large.
Just my thoughts as to the issue. |

I just had this issue for the first time. I'm using Safari 3.0.4 on OS 10.5.1.
I emptied cache and cookies, re-logged in and it worked just fine. |

this is part of phpbb's (crappy) ip/session validation for users with the remember me box checked. There's no clean fix for this on the site side because you'll lose some security if you disable or lessen the level of validation. This problem usually only affects people who's ISP renew their IP often.
Clearing cookies should fix this because it will force you to re-login thus re-creating your ip/session binding. |
