View original topic: Porsche 2 liters / balljoint interference

At some point in the future, I will probably be looking to run real 2 liters on a 4.5 or 5 inch balljoint beam (no shocks) and dropped spindles. Most likely CB. I don't have anything yet, just reading and planning.
From other threads, I understand these wheels interfere with the lower balljoints when you try to run them with dropped spindles. Has anyone successfully run this combo? I'm not willing to grind down balljoints. How bad is the interference? Are spacers + going narrower with the beam a feasible option? Not a huge fan of that idea, but I might consider it. I'd really like to run this setup.

I'm running Pedrini's on a adjustable beam that's dropped 3" with 195/60-15 tires. The beam is stock width and the tires don't touch.

While it doesn't answer your question, it does show you don't need dropped spindles and a narrow beam to drop the car and still run large front tires.

i have the same Pedrini wheels as Glenn does(love those wheels!!) and ran the same setup as him until i went air ride...i then narrowed the beam quite a bit and added CB dropped spindles...it was hard contact from the balljoint to the wheels...had to run 1" spacers to clear the balljoint...i also used hardened press in (moroso brand) wheel studs. been fine for over a year.
