I've had this about 8 years. I'm glad I found this forum. Here's some pics as promisedI'm hoping to get my emissions problem fixed so I can drive it around town more. Now it's registered as a collectible and I'm pretty limited on how much driving I can do. John

| According to my VIN my car was manufactured in August 1966. Also, while I was cruising some past threads, I noticed one or two remarking about the fuel filter placement like mine. Could some direct me to the thread that discusses the fix? Thanks, John |

| Not sure of the link, but basically you move the filter next to the trans, inline just as the tube exits the frame horn. Then jus trun the rubber fuel line as normal. It's just moving the filter out of the engine compartment, so it doesn't fail and cause a fire. If the filter fails next to the trans, you just run out of gas. |

Welcome. You have a nice 67 there. It looks very original and stock, the way a lot of us like them.
What problems are you having with the emissions? I have had good success in getting my 67 and 69 bugs to pass Arizona emissions. |

| I can't believe AZ smog tests these old cars. :? If they give you a printout of the test, post your cars numbers in CO, CO2, NOX, HC and the max allowed numbers. I'm a CA smog tech, maybe we can make it pass. |

| That car is so much like mine, it's scary. Right down to the black fender beading and incorrectly placed fuel filter! |

| Hey, would one of you '67 guys tell me - there's a brown wire that comes out of the back of the signal/emer relay - where does it go ? Mine has been cut and goes nowhere. Since this wire comes from back, the terminal labels don't help me. Thanks a lot, Joe |

The brown wire coming out of the black box goes nowhere. Some black boxes dont even have it. |

You may need to clean your glasses  .... At a quick glance, you'll notice the white shift knob, black shifter boot, black bumper and overrider supports, Brazilian front bumper, full carpet, no trim around windshield, quarter windows or rear window, black wiper blade holders, only one peashooter, no braided fuel line or crankcase breather tube, Brosol fuel pump, (it HAS the elusive oil bath bracket :D ), '68 horn ring, '68 door lock buttons, aftermarket sideview mirror, just to rattle off a few items... (fender bead was already mentioned)
Still, it looks like a nice car  |

Jewest, the brown wire goes to a ground.
As for the 67 posted here for an Aug made car it should have the low back seats with the release lever down near the floor, the front seats have been recovered, later style VW floor matts, door panels have been replaced and there should not be a pocket in the passenger door panel. Wrong generator installed for a 67, should have push on connectors and the generator/terminals are in the wrong position, distributor cap should be bakelite brown. |

Jeez Kent! What I meant to say is I/we like the stock appearace vs. the SLAMMED, 6" narrowed beam, earlies, bags, one piece window, pimp riding, "dawg" mobiles...............
P.S., you missed a few other non-original 67 items! 8-[ |

What problems are you having with the emissions? I have had good success in getting my 67 and 69 bugs to pass Arizona emissions. I thought 67 and older cars didn't have to pass emissions? If so what year is the cut off? |
