Joey
Thats where the car was originally purchased Auto Kraft GmbH in Mainz Germany... an OLD SKOOL VW Partner and Dealership. I have seen several cars with this badge.

Thanks, I thought that is what the badge was for. |

| 53 Oval, I actually requested that shot of the dome light. Notice the white paint that has flaked out. Is that the right dome light in your estimation? The owner and I were on the phone discussing it and the switch seems to act as it should? Any thoughts? :? |

| interesting observation... my switch is on the other side, closer to the door. Is it a two position switch on the dome light, or three? |

According to the owner, it's 2. However, I've discussed this with 53 Oval who's car is very OG and the white paint doesn't seem right?
I have a September 53 that's missing the dome light, so I am on the hunt for one..... :D |

I'll tell you this, I've found most everything else I've ever wanted for my cars, but that dome light is a tough one :D :D :D
However, if you are patient, you can find anything you need... I've learned that one over the past couple of years..... |

Because mine doesn't have it, might be that they were using different vendors. Mine is not marked with any logo. Perhaps Hella or SWF used some white sort of paint with their lights. Perhaps Lenny "cleaned" it up when he did the headliner.
There have been few pictures of the two position light posted in here and I don't remember any internal paint. I'll take it out later today and look. It may be that it it just flaked off like this latest picture suggest. :? |

| Hamburger Brad's dome light matches exactly with another well known 53, no white paint inside and mounted with the switch toward the front and two position. So with that, the mystery continues... this may not be a 53 dome light... or it might be.... One things seems sure, HamburgerBrad and 53 Oval have matching dome lights so theirs are probably the real deal :D |
