Hey oorwullie ..
I have a '69 411 sedan with the 1.7 L 68 HK V - code engine.
The ( V ) was only made 1 year ( > engine nr. 100000 ) for the Type 4 sedan and it was replaced by the Z engine in '70.
V - engine have small valves, the pushrod holes in the top are smaller and the clutch is 200 mm in dia.

hi michael, thanks for that. first i'd heard (from the guy who's selling)it was an 1800 but then after some investigation i was kinda thinking it 's probably a 1700.
i never heard of the Z engine but do have a W which had a 200mm clutch.
do you have any more info/specs?
how's denmark? probably cold as well! i met a danish guy called claus a couple of months ago, playing great blues on an old guild guitar. 8) |

The temperature is about -6 deg. but with the strong wind blowing it feels like - 20 !
Or in german - Es it sau kalt !
The 200 mm flyweel on the V - engine is rare, because you can use it when you install at Type 4 engine in a Type 1 car.
There by you can keep cheaper the Type 1 clutch disk and presure plate.
On the other hand you never know with used engines - they can have been rebulid a lot of times, so what is indside the blok is .............
As we say in Denmark :
Trusting is good, but checking in better

i don't need any more engines so won't be buying it. fortunately i didn't go to see it this week, he told me now that it's only for sale after he's found a GE engine. good luck to him, they are pretty rare in europe. :!: |
