View original topic: rims with a 35et offset

I searched and found that a stock 15x4.5" wheel for a vw has a 46mm et. And those fit deep inside the fenders with alot of space for some wider rims to come more torward the fenders lip.I found a set of rims that are 15x7iches wide and have a 35mm et.
So I wwent to a wheel/tire site an played with it a little bit and got info from it saying these wheels would be clear from the suspension and leaving even more room than stock but stick out 0.6" farther than the stock size.
http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp
the site I been playing with.
Can someone put 195/60/15 and 15x4.5 with a 46mm et (left side of the graph in the link) and the 195/60/15 with 15x7 and 35et (right side on the graph) and tell me if Im understanding this correctly.
Also would there be any rubbing with the stock beam and drop spindles and would you think theyd stick out?

Its a 72 Standard bug by the way.
Thanks.

I play with that calculator All the time
I guess it depends on how low you car is.

You say its a bug
Well you have Ass Loads of room in the fenders for wheels and tires.

Squareonair I Think said that you could
(on a 17x7) using a 30 to maybe a 42 offset and be just fine
where a 46 offset should be.

According to:
http://classicvw.org/gallery2/v/just_stuff/wheel+offset.jpg.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=0
you should have a 34 or a 40 stock.
