Sign me up!

Where do i send my $?

Jake Raby Fri Jan 11, 2008 10:22 am

DAMN!! You guys are going nuts!!! Over a dozen emails now!

I think this would change everything about the mystery behind the engines for so many people and help them to build confidence for bigger and better "upgrades" that could be offered for the kits..

Kind of like an entry level and a second level...

Jake, you've done so much research, you know what works and what doesn't first hand. I'm not saything that other people haven't done research, but from where we stand, you won't do or say anything unless you've proven it, and prove it to us. You've been eliminating the guesswork out of the engine building equasion for what? 30 years? There are tons of us T1 followers that wonder what your experience will do for us, and WE TRUST you.

Jake, you are the "new" Gene Berg for the 21st century. :D

Please do not use that comparison.

There are more ways to do something than my own, and I know that.

I'll start planning on a second engine just so I can use your kit!!!!

chrisflstf Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:13 am

I want the video as soon as it is available

dragstart Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:22 am

And would just the, (or a), video be available? I have an engine that I like, but man, with all the shoddy work we've all seen lately, I would love to go through my engine with some guidance, like a video from Jake. Not to blow smoke, but after hanging around here for awhile Jake Raby is one of the few builders I still trust.

Jake, Great idea! I've been trying to figure out if I should use a type 4 or a type 1 in my oval project.

Max Welton Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:34 am

Excellent idea!

I have no idea if this stuff is in your type-4 package, but...

A paper checklist on which people could mark off completed steps might be useful. And some basic "How to" guidance on proper use of a torque wrench and cleaning procedures, etc.

I would be very interested ! I'm the guy who posted ( what is the best book on building a t1 stroker )
Thanks :bug_blue: :bug_blue:

Info on my Type 4 program can be found here in presentation form.

A checklist will be included as well as a time line, but hitting pause on the DVD player while watching the step by step video will work as well.

It would be really hard to goof this up.

See samples of the specifc kit inclusions here.

The term "Military precision" applies.

A short video going over the use of precision measuring devices is also planned. All i am working on this year is the development of these videos and programs...

Stop the press. Jake did you say type 1? Great idea, if you need more ideas for the what Not to do portion, let me know :D

Jake Raby Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:05 pm

The video will be available separately, probably in two volumes that are a couple hours each.. For like 39.95

BUT I will ONLY use and explain the parts that are used in the kit, else I'd get off track and vener finish the damn video!

The most critical part of assembling an engine is "feel" and component inspection.. Showing people what to look for is key.

I have a manufacturer in mind to source these components from and they like the idea, but we are still talking about possibilities... We'll also use some of our own specifically made parts to complete the kits as well..

And Bug Me Video will also be circulating the videos as well, we have a long standing relationship. I'll be doing all the production, editing and assembly personally.

BTW- I have built more type 1 engines, than Type 4 engines and I continually have people ask me to build the Type 1.. I do not simply because they don't really pose any serious entertainment for me and I got tired of all the shoddy parts on the market for them.

Those shoddy parts were not worth all the assembly time that I had in them, but with a major manufacturer trying their ass off to make better parts (and using me as a tool in this development) things are better.

This way I get to teach and show the guy how to do this himself while applying my developmental work to the original "combo" for the engine recipe.

All of that, plus I don't have to be a robot assembling the same engine everyday...

It's a win/win for everyone.

 I just got into aircooleds not to long ago and have been lurking forum after forum trying to decide which route I wanted to go ie; turnkey, longblock, or build the whole motor myself. My problem is that I am getting stationed somewhere else soon and don't wanna have two different places doing machine work for me. So this would be sick! I am definitely intested!

Quote: I just got into aircooleds not to long ago and have been lurking forum after forum trying to decide which route I wanted to go

This is a classic quote...

For our hobby to continue to grow we must cater to the new members of it and help them have SUCCESSFUL experiences.

If not we'll fade away..

Remember: If it's not growing, it's dying.

The crappy work ethic and general lack of care from the majority of people these days makes it hard for someone new to do something easily..

COFBack Fri Jan 11, 2008 1:46 pm

Jake

This is a great idea. A Proven Combo's Video / Selection of parts would save people so much time and effort.

When are you going public?

Robert

Mase Fri Jan 11, 2008 1:52 pm

Jake... will your Type 1 kits include an engine case? I see your Type 4 kits require a core... but with the wide availability of different "new" Type 1 cases... it might be useful to at least suggest an option which you deem a quality match to the other kit components.

Best regards,
