The repro Flat 4 4-lug sprint stars (15 x 5.5") have a 3.5" backspace, which pushes the outer rim lip 1 inch out toward the fender on my '68. I want to run 165's up front, with stock width beam, only lowered slightly (1 to 2 "). I'm concerned about tire clearance before buying the 165's. I don't want anthing smaller than a 165, so 135, 145,155 are not an option.
Is anyone running 165's up front with these new wheels? Clearance issues?? any photos?
