I recently purchased a fairly un-mollested 74 SB. I'm getting the mechnical end all squared away right now. My first major project is a complete rebuild of the front end. It didn't have the shakes, but it rode like a buck-board, (turns out the pass. side strut was stuck in the up position). I'm installing sport springs and new oil struts on stock strut housings. Hopefully this will inprove the ride, and lower the front an inch or maybe a bit more. After everything was removed in the front end, I took my power washer to clean everything up. I found absolutely no rust in the strut towers. Pretty remarkable for an original car almost 35 years old!
Not bad for the origial paint inside the fenders!
John at Topline Parts has been very helpful with the front suspension rebuild. Can't wait to get it back together! :D
