Hey all,
We have an 84 Westy with an inoperable AC. Instead of carting the extra weight all over the Earth, I thought I'd try and remove it. Is this something that is pretty easy (e.g. a few hours work without the aid of extra tools), or shouldn't I get involved? Thanks for your help. |

| Engine related parts (compressor, brackets, etc) should be easy to remove - just cap the lines to keep them clean in case you ever want to hook it up again. Interior parts can be a lot more complicated, especially if it was a factory install instead of after market. Is the freon already gone? If not, it is illegal to just vent it - it should be recycled by a local a/c shop. |

| If the freon is all gone, then that would be why it doesn't cool, and if you recharge it that might make it work. Very nice on a scorching hot day! |
