I have thought over the Idea and I think I will go with the type 4 conversion for by 68
transporter but now my question is how much displacement can I get with such a conversion and does anyone know who sells brand new cases for performance use??Like maybe bernie berman??? |

Don't bit off more than you can chew, that's an ol cliche for sure but it is applicable.... You would need to do major sheetmetal cutting and ect to get a 72 and later stlye type 2/4 engine to fit....
Unless your planning on converting it to "upright" configuration which still requires quite a bit of custom parts and fabrication.... Just what did you base this judgment on.... if it's your bank account then by all means go right ahead.... otherwise think over a 1776 version of the upright engine to sooth your need for power.... |

| Can I get 250hp out of the 1776 upright? The whole reason why I was considering this proposition is I have a need a need for speed and mundane hp just won't do...I wasn't aware that I had to do so much custom cutting afterall the 78 I beleive came with a 2000cc engine, so I here...The thing is I want the maximum amount of hp with the least amout of cutting and no I'm not made out of money I just know how fast I want to go and for how long and I figured on long streches displacement wins every time, however I am open to suggestions, I realize it has been a while since I originally posted this but I would like to here what other people think or have done in a similar situation....RACRX |
