From the time I was down at your place and the progress you made, you will be there! You guys fixed that roof vent area up nicely, the last time saw it was a mess! Put the skylight windows in and a motor and be on your way. Is there any thing else you need to do besides that?

jus put in the skylights tonight and a motor is in. jus some more little stuff to do.

Can you explain how you did this a little more? That is sweet! Also, AWESOME BUS!!!

vw62rag Fri Aug 29, 2008 12:14 am

well first i used 3/4 inch mdf wood to build the box, each speaker has its own insulated box, then 2 old amps i had laying around are mounted on the back or bottom, i used a trailer connection to power it and i can jus unplug it and remove it anytime. i have a headphone jack going in to the mp3 player and and 2 rca jacks comming out going to two splitters for both amps. take a look at the picture maybe it will help.

see the rca splitters in the middle between the 2 amps? thats were i plug in the mp3 player
and look on the bottom right, thats the trailer hook up to power the amps and i can unplug it anytime. i jus got it done tonight and i still need to test it, i hope the small wires on the trailer hook up can handle the power of the amps. we will see. if not ill have to inlarge the positive wire. hope that helps

That's really cool! What a nice way to get some tunes in your split window without modifying anything. Much cheaper than buying a nice head unit too!!!

well so far so good, the stereo is holding up fine and its loud. i wouldnt mind maybe in the future putting a EQ on it to fine tune the sound but for now it works. and i already got almost 2000 miles on the bus.
