View original topic: Light Switch Electrical on a '71 Bus

Maybe someone here can help me with this. After a massive accident and repair (front end) my Bus' electrical system has been a hodge podge of wires and splices (while the body shop knew about dents they knew nothing about wires!). Since that time, my instrument lights haven't worked when I switched on the headlights. I thought I'd look into it today. Here's my question:

The wire that goes to #57 was gone and looks like it's the Parking Light warning switch. True?

#58 has two connectors and one of those powers the clock, the other one appears to power the parking lights. True?

I can't make head nor tail of #56, and #30 (which has an adaptor that turns a single plug into two).

Can anybody help me?

As for my original reason for looking into this, the instrument lights, I plugged a replacement wire from another '71 Bus into terminal #58b and connected them but they didn't light up.

Thanks for your time.

I'm not claiming to be much help on your specific questions, mine is still a rodent's hideaway. But you can find wiring diagrams and some translations of those numbers at:

Good luck.
