I want to remove the factory airbox on my 72 bus and use a nice air filter, like a K&N on each carb. who might have single barrel filters i can use. i have solex pdsit 32/34. thanks alot.

yep. When it comes to filtration without resistance, oil bath is still the best. It just is messy to service, so carmakers switched to paper elements. Not sure if you have paper filters in the 72 bus, but if so, then KN is a good idea. i like mine. got it at so cal imports for like 25 bucks i think.

i have the paper filter already, not oil bath. so i figured going to an individual filter on each carb would be no big deal. plus it would unclutter the engine bay a bit. as for the hoses, i only have the one for the oil breather, which i was going to just install a k&n braether instead. thanks.

Not sure who screwed up your bus before, but if you have a USA 1700 1972 bus, it came with a large round oil bath air cleaner. 73 and 74 came with a large square paper air cleaner.
What are you going to do about the thermostatic air duct and the vacuum hoses for the dual vacuum unit distributor?

Who is to say it is screwed up? Maybe the PO did put on a carb setup from an 1800. dont matter to me. the thermostatic flap thing aint hooked up anyway, wasnt when i bought it. and right now it has a 009 in it, so no vac necessary for the dist. although there are ports on the manifold for dist vaccum. of course if the carbs are jetted for an 1800, that would explain why it runs so rich eh? i could care less about originality, just wanna give it some more umph and clear out that engine bay some.
