Well now I,m bummed..getting my westy ready to go camping . Put new urethane boots on intake, then went to start---no go. So put a little gas in the throat and would only run till dried up. A closer look revealed a cracked potmetal at a diadhragm cover (it is next to the fuel inlet, about an inch square cover, four brass screws. What MODEL # IS THIS CARB???
It's a Weber, the omly numbers are: 32 36 DF
23-A 6J and they are stamped on the side of the base. Can anyone ID this carb and if so anyone have a parts-carb that could offer up the new diaphram cover plate w/ an arm attached to it?
Or what would be a good replacement if I gotta get a new (ouch!$) one? It's a 78 2LTR converted from FI to this D/P carb setup.
PLease help me get back on the road!! ThanX

You have the Weber "progressive" it is a common model used on type 1, 2 and even 3 models to replace FI or other carb set ups.
Another model you could get a part off of is a "Holley Weber" which is the same type carb licensed to Holley and was used on Fords like the Pinto and other 4 cyl engines...
If that is all that is wrong then finding a shop or a boneyard with some old dead carbs around you should be able to find one.
I know Scat Enterprises (www.scatenterprises.com) sells rebuilt carbs by themselves( not the whole kit) for reasonable.... good luck maybe you can get one for parts at a local swap if there are any events going on near you.....
