Thanks for the update Eric. We are all praying for you. Stanford was good to Mel...Jim

It doesn't get much better than Stanford on the west coast for quality medicine.

Plus... as an added bonus.

I am betting that the student nurses at Stanford are more interesting than the male nurses in San Francisco.... just a guess.

If they need any Hazet tools to fix you... we all have a pretty good stash they can borrow.

"Time for your spongebath, Mr. K.!"

Yow!

Seriously, take care Erich, and Stanford is absolutely a top-notch establishment--with their help, you're gonna pull thru.

Maybe an eventual cardinal decal for the '48...

Male nurses?
I had a few at the hospital.
I never felt more secure in a mans arms before...
Geez, do I need therapy?
Love and peace....

Hoffman,
Your good!!!

Oh, anyone know this movie line...

"Your good Warriors, real good."

I am sure Eric M would remember that movie.
One of my faves.

Fritter Thu Mar 06, 2008 7:39 pm

That line is from "The Warriors", I think it was said by the radio announcer?

52HoffmanSplit Thu Mar 06, 2008 10:42 pm

Let's get to it Boppers!

"Warrriors.... come out to Plaaaaaay-aaaaaaaay"

Im so old I saw that in the theatres..

lurkinstock Fri Mar 07, 2008 2:37 am

I want to say it first came from a cartoon in the late 60's early 70's. Something about a kid that could time travel with the help of his wizard friend that If I remember correctly was a turtle. Don't ask me how I can remember that after that era.

Erich, get well

52HoffmanSplit Fri Mar 07, 2008 7:23 am

Tooter Turtle..... The boy could never learn that there is no place like home. :)

What can I say.. I was RAISED by the television in the 1960's....

Erich? Do you remember.. Tom Terrific!!

Hoffman,
Good one. I knew that there was a turtle in it. Boy that really dates us.

if any of you were as old as I am, I think you'd remember it was "Tudor Turtle"

Erich, glad you're doing okay, and you have the best in the business looking after you.
A couple of 13mm, 14mm, and a 17 and 19mm, and we'll have you patched up in no time...
(Maybe you better stick with the folks at Stanford, after all...)

Erich,

When do you go to Stanford?

Eric

Genrich Wed Mar 12, 2008 1:14 pm

Eric,
I go to Stanford the last Friday in April. Hopefully they will have some perspective. There is a surgeon in San Diego that my be some use to me.
My wife has spent some hours seaching the net for info.
God love her.
Erich

Well the end of this month I go to La Jolla to the surgeon. I hope he has a plan of attack for me.

On a other note my cousin Patrick and his wife Danni suprised me by flying in from Germany!
Naturally, I showed them the VW collection. I even felt good enought to take the 1948 Split for a drive. My wife, Patrick and Danni and I went around the block. We had a great time, laughing and taking pictures on our adventure!

Erich Wendy and Karsten.

I've read a bit about a fellow in the eastern block... that has had some success with sewing folks heads onto different bodies. It is a tad tricky to find the new bodies though. I think his story was made into a movie.

Actually... upon further reflection.. I think it was just the brain. I would suggest that you really check out the guys references carefully before you go see him eh.

I'm thinking that the fellow in San Diego is probably a lot better option for you.

Great idea there, Erich, for some "split therapy," with a drive in your '48 Bug. That sounded like a great time with your cousins from Germany. We'll be thinking about you re: your La Jolla specialist visit at the end of this month!

Still thinking about you everyday Erich. A lot of folks praying for you. A lot of them aren't even religious... but they are praying none the less.

Genrich Mon Apr 07, 2008 10:43 am

Eric,
I have been doing well. Still doing the Chemo thing. I had it this past Tuesday. On the 25th. I go to Stanford and see what they have to say.
There is not much they can do for me right now but we shall see.
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers.
Erich, Wendy and Karsten
