Well nothing new to report this week...
We are staying on the chemotherapy and taking things as they come. As it stands right now there is nothing more they can offer us for treatment. Surgery is not advisable except to help with symptoms that arrise. There are a few new problems with fluid in the lung which we will eventually have to drain like the abdomen. I am feeling pretty well for the most part, except for nausea and fatigue related to the chemo.

I look forward to going to Kelly Park this Sunday.

Hi Erich!
Thinking about you every day - as you know, you have inspired me to take time off work (without pay :( )for a bit to enjoy the things that are important to me. Looking forward to seeing you at Kelly Park and of course you are welcome to stop in to the open house in Mt View Friday if you are down.

Erich,
Thanks for the update. I've been wondering how you were doing.
Glad you plan to go to Kelly Park this weekend.
You had a grand showing last year with your magnificent CB!

If you are looking for some additional diversions, you should revisit the AVD CB forum, as I see you haven't been there for a number of weeks.
There's a lot going on there right now. I believe the last count was there are five total restorations going on at the moment.

Wishing you the best.

Hello Friends,
I went to Stanford this past Friday. For the first time we had a doctor that gave us some hope. He has some clinical trials that I may qualify for. If I gualify the therapy my turn my cancer from terminal to chronic. As you my guess I said "sign me up!".
On Tuesday we see a surgeon about my colon. He my want to remove the growth. This will help me with the clinical trials.
Anyway I will keep you posted.
Thanks for your support. It was good seeing some of you at Kelly Park!

Live today and we will see what tomorow brings.

Positive News...I like it; recovery starts with the first positive. We're praying for the next and the next until you beat this thing.

Thinking of you and your family over this side.

Guys,
Thanks so much for your kind words. I am feeling good but my blood has taken a beating. I may need a blood transfusion. No big deal.
We just found out that Stanford has a radiation machine called a "Cyber Knife". It can pin point radiation in the body. Perhaps they can zap my tumor in my stomach?

All your friends in "Cyber Space" are rooting for the "Cyber Knife" to do it's good stuff for you, Erich.

And doesn't Keith Richards get "recreational" blood transfusions? (no big deal for him either, I'm sure)

By the way, I finally got around to taking some pictures of that spare tire holding-brackety-thing in my '50 Bug's spare tire well, and will be sending them along to you soon.

Take care Erich and keep up the good fight!

Erich; The MD's in Sacramento used a Gamma-Knife procedure on my father's brain tumor. They focused many different small bits of gamma rays into the location of the tumor. Collectively, his one treatment resulted in near-complete obliteration of the tumor with no collateral damage to the rest of his brain. It was incredible. If that's what Stanford is proposing for your abdominal mass, this may be a significant breakthrough for you. Peg and I are praying for you.....every day.

We all seem to be doing well. I have been seen at Stanford and have a good chance at being eligible for some clinical trials they are conducting. We have had mixed results so far with the chemo that I'am currently taking. I will have another PET/CT scan next week. I'am scheduled to see another doctor in the city to hopefully remove all or part of the colon mass, which will help simplify treatment. I'am very happy to have the abdominal drain removed last week, as well as some fluid drained from my lung.

Now that's some progress in the right direction! I'm glad to hear it Erich; keep chugging along, and wish you and your family a fantastic holiday weekend!
