Glad to hear your home. Holding your newborn will bring you strength and a smile on your face. A trip out to the garage may not hurt either.
Get well soon!
Regards,

Erich, thanks for the update. It is frustrating to send all these well wishes and not hear how things are going. And thanks to Ev for making this thread sticky.
Keep your chin up, focus on the POSITIVE things in life always. And as someone pointed out, visit your VWs every once in a while.
Keep us posted!!
PS: Remember this day?

Ditto everyting John said, Erich!!!
Seaking of classic photos, here's our buddy Erich from one of his many adventures spreading VW goodwill, this one from the year 2000, at a certain big New England VW event. But who's the dude next to him?

Today is the start of Erich's attack on his cancer. His doctor's did not want to start the chemo treatments while Erich was in the hospital for fear of infection. Today he heads to his doctor where the nurses specialize in administering treatment. He is ready for the fight!

That's Dave Cormack. Formerly a writer for VW Trends, then went to Hot VWs for a bit, now "retired" but still very much in the VW hobby.. |

Friends,
I had my first dose of Chemo today.
I am doing well.
My wife and I are positive and things are going as planed.
As for those OLD photos of me.
I remember each one of them. The one with me and Dave was at Litchfield. I drove Steves 50 to the show.
The other with me and John was at Bad Camberg in 2004.
The memories keep me going...
Erich, Wendy and Karsten. |

John, yes, that photo of Erich and I was taken at Litchfield, you have a good memory !!
A quick note about Erich, that will come as no surprise to anyone-
I also remember needing to phone home from Bad Camberg, and my US-based cell phone would not work. Erich very graciously allowed me to use your "world wide" phone to make a quick call back to SoCal... and I was grateful then, and I am grateful now. His kindness meant a LOT to me.
Thank You again, Erich....
Now, go kick that damn cancer right in the you-know-whats.
I want to go "Splitting To Solvang" with you, Ray, "Leadfoot Larry" and the rest of the Bay Area crew again....
Jeez. I've lost a lotta weight since that photo. I'm probably as skinny as that crazed English guy that insists on running some weird spinning thingie bewteen the carb and manifold of his car(s)

I believe the heading is "Editor Dave Cormack, in sort sort of territorial ritual, bares his chest and midsection to claim his domicile for the evening"
or something along those lines...
That was just me, being me  8)
and I STILL don't like that #$%^&*() Ferris wheel @ Litchfield, either. |

Here's another good photo, this time of Erich and Wendy, courtesy of our good friend, samba member "Rome," from the May 2007 Michigan Vintage VW Club's "Vintage Festival," in Ypsilanti, MI. They do get around!
