I assume installing an eberspacher in a 68 Single Cab Bay is possible, but none of the manuals posted online show where it is supposed to go. My first guess is the treasure chest, but I've also heard it belongs in the engine compartment tied into the existing plumbing and also under the dash in the cab (which seems unlikely). Anyone know for sure what the "correct" install would be? And, if it is practical to do this, which model would be correct? Thanks

I think it should go in the engine compartment, on the driver's side. Then you will need to rig up a tube for the air to flow through into the cab. It would pass just by the left of the gas tank, then through the treasure chest and into the cab. Do you have the heater yet, or are you just plotting so far? Jeremy

Ive never seen one in a PU but it wouldnt be to difficult. In a bus you cut through the fire wall and install a duct with a flap reg between heater and wall. This heats the rear of the bus while the stock heat tries up front. Dont think ya wanna put a gas heater in the cab! And cutting holes in your bus. Ughh

Thanks. I just bought the SC so I'm still in the plotting stage. But winter is coming . . .
I'm gonna try to get the factory heat up to specs, but I always liked the gas heaters. Being able to go out and turn the heater on in the morning just makes things so much more civilized. |

I'll take a photo of how its mounted in my van tomorrow, and post it in the gallery for you. It is possible to find the heaters in the junkyard, then you'd be able to get the whole deal, heater, mounts, controls, etc.. Jeremy
