I think smacking my head against stuff under vehicles is enough of a reason for not using a creeper. It seems like the creeper just gets you closer to what you're going to hit.

I always figured a creeper helps because you have less room for the momentum to build up before you smash your head into something.
I really believed it.
Right up to the time I asked a friend to give me a little push 'cause I was all contorted and threading a nut on by feel and just need to move about an inch....
Just a little more....
And then he railed my head into the edge of the brake drum....

Was that what made you finally quit smoking?
;-)

No, I quit smoking when I had the heart attack back in '01.

Congrats!

Besides the usual cuts, scrapes, burns and bruises, I tore some tendons in my calf while jumping on the breaker bar to knock loose a rear axle nut. Took a while, but it healed. Biggest hassle is whatever I did to my elbow while putting on the front seat bottom upholstery - ya know how you have to hold it down tight with one arm while pulling it over the front - something let loose and I can't let it rest long enough to heal......Oh well....
