| I found a guy down the street that has a bus for sale for parts. i need the trany out of it seeing as tho i just lost my 4th gear. but he isnt sure if it is good, it has been siting for a while. it is a 68 and i own a 71 and i was wondering how many things are swapable? my bus needs quite a bit of work but i havnt really seen what is good and what isnt in the bus. like i know the front end chassis parts arnt because it is drum and i have disk brakes. thanks for any help |

| The 68 trans will fit, only problem the 68 was a weak transmission, if it is the original, most did not make 50K miles. Can be identified by the acorn style nuts for the side plates. I am not sure if the 68 came with the later style TO bearing arm, if not then you must use the early TO bearing and either early pressure plate or adapter plate on your 71 pressure plate. |

| 68 tranny is not a good match. it's a one year only unit. it will fit however. |
