how far do you need to travel?

Beyond the obvious thoughts going through my head.... have you tried replacing the flex lines? Even picking up a used set from a wrecking yard. Over time and with contaminated fluid the rubber flex lines have been known to swell and actually close off. If you are planning to donate the bus afterwards make a deal with a yard and get the parts with a deal in place where you give/sell the vehicle to them when you return. Take if from a guy that HAS had a vehicle with messed up brakes. DON'T GO IN THE BUS without front brakes. I'd maybe on my most desperate day go without rear brakes but not a chance with front ones all messed up.

Food for thought.... if the front brakes are messed up how good to you think the rears ones are? Use your head and fix it or find a ride with someone else. I'm sure you aren't going to the game by yourself.

I think I've found a cheap solution. I saw a tow hitch for just over $100 that looks like it will bolt directly onto the front bumper of the bus. Perfect! My brother has decided to join me so he will drive the tow vehicle. The coug bus will be rockin' at the Rose Bowl!!!

One thing I've found very encouraging from this board...VW owners are very safety conscious and do things the right way. Just like me. I respect that and hold you all to a high level of car owners. I didn't expect that considering some stereotypes where VW owners repair their cars with chewing gum and chicken wire or use t-shirts as seat covers.

It's going to be a great experience camping in the bus! I feel sorry for all the people who will be in Winnabagos! They won't know what they're missing! The bus is soooo much more the chick magnet!!! Rock on and go Cougs!!!

Why not just strap yourself to an ACME rocket New Years eve and use that mode of transportation. You will probably end up with the same end result.

I use one of those tow bars for towing my bays around. Remember to put the key in to unlock the steering. You can just let it freewheel, it'll follow the tow vehicle nicely. Jeremy

...or say you didn't swerve....and actually hit the poor drunk bastard. Here you would have caused the accident and gotten away scott free...the poor inebriated guy would have gone to jail lost his car at the minimum...possibly done jail time and lost his job house etc....
