Alright, I'm dumb.
But I'm willing to learn.
I see sooooooo many different wheel options here in your photos that look pretty darn cool.
I need an economical (CHEAP!) custom wheel for a stock 78 SB or 71 Ghia that will work. As I mentioned on a previous post, Pep Boys have these nice rims that are $200 for four, but not available for the vintage dubs.
I'm familar with the adapters that are available, but is that a good option? They show 5-lug 4 3/4". That's mostly GM, right? Do they offer an adapter that will allow, say, 4- lug FWD VW/Audi rims or any of the Jap stuff to fit?
How did you guys put non vintage wheels on your rides? What did you do?
And I'm not even opposed to buying a decent set of used... so if ya got sumptin sweet, PM me!
SHOW ME YER RIMS! And explain slowly how ya did it. (I'm an old burn-out and haven't many megabites left.....)

| easiest way is to buy drums drilled for whatever pattern you are looking for. Ford/Chevy patterns are popular and the new drums are not that expensive. I don't like or trust adapters so, I will not tell you to use them. My .02 cents |

Or look at whats available from CBPerformance or Cip1. $200 for 4 rims? I'd stick with stock before wasting my money like that.
Rims make the biggest impact on your car,why do you think the guys with the OG Fuch's,gasburners or Torque Thrust's make the cover of the magazine's?
If you can't afford nice rims right now, save your money!
It took me three months to save up for my 15x5 and 15x6.5"BRM's when the first came out,and three months to save up for the new JGE Torker's,but it was totally worth it! |

Okay, where would I buy the predrilled drums. And what about my Ghia? Predrilled rotors?

This is from my previous post:
Anyone run Pep Boys Proline wheels on your Fat Chicks? They offer a nice rim for about $50 each, but their book only shows applications as far back as Rabbit. They show a 15 x 6.5... Would that work on a 78 SB or Ghia?

I have a set on my wife's Sebring for over 4 years and they have held up well.... [quote]
They're not bad rims, for the $$$$$.....

| Wheel offsets, etc makes a ton of difference if it'll fit w/in the fenders. If you're asking if Rabbit lug patterns fit, no, they're different. Only aircooled VW 4 lugs and Porsche 914 uses that 4 lug pattern you're looking for |

| The easiest cheapest alum. wheel w/proper offset is the Riviera polished or painted! You seem to want a modern wheel which will cost more money than used Rivieras. I had Zenith porsche 914 wire wheel hubs redrilled @ a local machine shop for $120. I get to sand blast & paint them when it quits raining? |

Here you go, 5 x 100 ( watercooled bolt pattern) I ran these on my '73 and had no issues picking wheels. Also look at their web site and look through the different bolt patterns.
Remember tho, get the proper offset or you'll rub like a biotch.
Do it right, or don't do it at all. my .02 cents.......
