This is probably a majorly beginner question, but... I had a new transaxle and clutch professionally installed in my project, a 70 Westy with many faults. It's parked a lot and probabably has a about 50 miles and 6 months on the tranny. It is making a bad noise that I would have said sounded like a slipping belt, but it correlates with pushing in the clutch. Is this normal run in for a new clutch, or throw-out bearing? Is there some lubrication I should have done or should do? Advice most welcome.
Too old to be starting this kind of stuff. |

If it makes squealing metallic like noises when you push it in it and not when it is let out, is more than likely a bad T.O. bearing... Can you feel any vibration pulsing on the pedal when you just barely apply the pressure to start pushing it in?
Are you sure the shop put in all new parts? or even if they did there are el cheapo bearings and good ones (sachs) and in reality any part can be defective now days right out of the box! |
