So, let me get this straight...
The 16 x 8 rears went on without any narrowing of the trailing arms/short axles?
Even with spacers, it still doesn't poke(!)

Did you have to trim the snubber pads?
Still double-springplates?

Anything else/other tricks to make them work?

You are inspiring me to try on the 16 x 8 P 968 wheels I got for my fasty...

This is a very sweet ride.
And super good job getting the pictures/prose up, too.
Taking time to write it all up and post really helps inspire some of us who have to live among the regular people, y'know.

One vote against the eyebrows, though.
Headlight eyebrows fit if you are going for the "Tijuana Look".
You know, roof rack, dingle balls, curb feelers, mud flaps, lowered to the stops, 13" Dayton wires with 4" poke....
Your car is too clean and sits too nice for those eyebrows, man.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snubber ??? Its a stock IRS suspension. Did you mean the rubber bump stops? If so, they're sitting on my "extras" table in the garage.

They won't work on the front if yo are planning on lowering it more than 1 outer spindle. Even if you have the et53 type, you'd definitely poke past the fender by about 1/2". And if they're et23, forget it... you'll have clearencel issues.

I actually AM going for the TJ look. I'm going to put a bunch of sacks of oranges in the back and paint the roof with the old green, white and red along with a huge mural of Guadalupe on the hood ASAP.... ya fuck.

Dont worry, eye brows are retarded (not saying they just so happen to look reeeeal cool on this square :? ). They belong in the 50s though with wide white walls and red dots.

Raf has made a lot of awesome decisions on this car. The eyebrows are not one of them. Actually, they are the only thing that doesn't excite me on it. Just looking out for us retards out here... :wink:
