Hi,

On a bus with fuel injection, there are 2 wires going to the side terminal on the starter rather than one. What's the second one for?

I hope I understand your question correctly. If you are asking about the wires that attach to the slide on terminals and your wiring hasn't been cobbled up then the other wire simply goes over to the fuel pump. This provides power to the fuel pump while you are cranking the engine and shuts off once you release the key. Power to the fuel pump is then taken over by the wire going to the double relay which is protected by an automatic shutoff if air is not being pulled through the air flow meter.
