I am trying to figure out what the black button on the front of my stove does? The cabinet is a late 1970s model for a bay Westy (I bought it seperate from the bus). The switch is mounted to the left of the flow control knobs and it appears to be factory. It has a large resistor on the back conecting the two poles, then it runs to a small switch (gold and black) mounted inside the cabinet door and then to two wire that I assume run to the wire connector blocks. At first I wondered if it was for a stove ignitor or a momentary switch for the water pump, but there is no ignitor (there are instructions for manually lighting the stove).
The diagrams/ picture/ wiring diagrams I have seen all show the stove plumbing (usually later model stoves) and the wiring for the sink, but neither of these switches. Any help would be appriciated. |

| The busses with the stove were duluxe models and could be hooked up to a garden hose. This provided pressurized water to the faucet that by-passed the water tank and electric water pump. All you have to do is turn the faucet handle to turn the water on or off. If you filled the water tank and wanted to use water from the tank then you turn on the faucet and activate the pump via the button. For some reason the standard campers could not be hooked up to outside water and operated only via the water tank and pump. It isn't unusual to see the water pump wiring hacked up by previous owners so you may need to play around with everything to make it work properly. The resistor block you mentioned seems to freak people out and they try to bypass it and coble up the wiring. Take care. |
