I want to upgrade the stock intake on my 74 bus, but I was wondering which would increase the power more: a turbo(or twin turbo) or dual carbs. I hear good things about them both, but I was wondering what people around here thought.

Carbs to start with, and get all those thoughts about turbocharging out of your head. unless you want to get into thousands of dollars in fabricating a system that will fit your engine bay, turbocharging a bus is impractical to the point of impossible. Seriously, you want to do the job right? new carbs, rework the heads, change the rocker ratios, and install a better breathing exhaust, and you will be dollars ahead, with no turbo lag.

I agree with Bljones, unless you have a ton of money, go with carbs. If you really have as bunch of $$ burning a hole in your pocket, you could look into going with CB performance electronic fuel injection. They have one that would fit your 74. I have heard good things about them, and have seen many sandrails in action running them, very nice! I want to put it on one of my buses one day.

Although carbs or a turbo would increase performance, they reach that goal using different methods. A turbo would be way expensive and your engine would have to be ready for something like that. Dual carbs might be better.
