I recently took my 1835cc out of my 71 camper van to put in my Ghia. Well I have been looking to build a new motor for the bus since spring will be here soon. I didn't really have many complaints about the 1835 before, but my friend has a newer bus than mine with the pancake type 4 motor. And it seems to scoot around a lot better than mine did. So I am considering building a 2007 for it. 78 x 90.5. Has anyone run this comination in their bus? Or any other size and build recomendations would help. I have already aquired dual 34 webers for it so I will probably use those. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remember that your friend has a different transmission set up in his bus than you do. With his engine combo, it will still scoot around better.

The '68-73 Buses all had the same ratios.
The '74-5s had a taller rear axle 4.86:1 with closer 3-4, and the 76 and up went taller still with 4:57:1.
